TL;DR: the short version

• All calculations run in your browser. We never see your inputs or results.
• We use cookieless, privacy-first analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics).
• We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties.
• You can use the entire free tier fully anonymously, without signing in.
• A cookie-consent banner lets you choose which optional cookies to allow.

1. Who we are

ExaCalc is an independent online hub of calculators, converters, and financial tools, operated by a small indie team. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can reach us at kingedwardblue@gmail.com.

2. Data we collect

2.1 Tool inputs and results

Every calculator, converter, and tool on ExaCalc runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Numbers you enter, files you process, and results that appear are computed locally and never transmitted to our servers.

2.2 Anonymous usage analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless, privacy-first analytics service, to measure aggregate traffic. It tells us which pages are popular and which countries visit most, but cannot identify individual users. Optionally, if you consent, we also use Google Analytics 4 (with IP anonymization enabled) to understand user journeys through the site.

2.3 Account data (optional)

If you create a Pro account, we store your email address, a bcrypt-hashed password, your subscription status, and your saved favorites list. We do not store payment card details; those are handled entirely by our payment processor. You can delete your account at any time from your profile page, which permanently removes all data we hold about you.

2.4 Cookies and local storage

We use browser local storage to save your preferences (theme, language, favorites, recent tools). This data never leaves your device. The cookie categories we use are:

• Strictly necessary. These functional cookies keep the site working, including remembering your consent preference itself. They stay active at all times and cannot be declined.
• Google Analytics 4 cookies fall under analytics and are active only with your consent. They help us understand usage patterns, and you can decline them with no loss of functionality.
• With your consent, Google AdSense sets advertising cookies to enable personalized ads on the free tier. If you decline, you will still see ads, just non-personalized ones.

You can change your cookie preferences at any time using the "Manage preferences" link in the cookie banner or in the site footer.

3. How we use data

• To improve the site. We look at which tools get used most so we can prioritise our work.
• To debug errors using aggregated data that helps us find and fix calculation bugs.
• To fulfil Pro subscriptions with the minimum data needed to grant paid access.
• To respond to your support requests when you email us directly.
• To comply with legal obligations when required by applicable law.

4. What we never do

• We never sell your data to advertisers, data brokers, or any third party.
• We never use fingerprinting or cross-site behavioral tracking.
• We never require sign-in to use any free tool.
• We never store the content of your calculations on our servers.
• We never send unsolicited marketing emails.

5. Third-party services

Some features rely on third-party services that receive specific, limited data:

• Cloudflare serves the site, provides DDoS protection, and runs our cookieless analytics. It processes IP addresses in transit but does not log them for identification. Privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
• Google Analytics 4 is opt-in. It receives page-view events with IP anonymization enabled, stays disabled by default, and activates only if you consent. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
• For personalized ads, Google AdSense is opt-in too. When you consent to advertising cookies, AdSense may set its own cookies to serve relevant ads, and you can opt out at any time at adssettings.google.com.
• Pro subscription transactions are handled by our payment processors (Dodo Payments and Razorpay). We never receive or store your card number, CVV, or banking details; their privacy policies apply to payment processing.
• The live currency converter fetches exchange rates from the public, ECB-sourced Frankfurter API. No personal data is sent.

6. Data retention

Anonymous analytics data is retained for up to 14 months, after which it is aggregated or deleted. If you hold a Pro account, your account data (email, hashed password, subscription status, favorites) is retained until you delete your account. Upon deletion, all identifiable data is permanently removed within 30 days.

7. International data transfers

ExaCalc is served globally via Cloudflare's edge network. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), data may be processed in countries outside the EEA (including the United States) by our service providers. Where this occurs, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent safeguards approved by the European Commission.

8. Your rights

Under GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA (California), India's DPDP Act, and similar privacy laws, you have the right to:

• Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification, meaning you can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erasure: request deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Portability, so you can receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
• Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests.
• Withdraw consent at any time by changing your cookie preferences.

9. Children's privacy

ExaCalc is a general-audience educational site suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us immediately and we will delete it without delay.

10. Changes to this policy

When we make material changes to this policy, we update the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. If changes materially affect how we handle existing users' data, we will provide notice via an in-app banner or (for Pro subscribers) by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
